Parts Washers
Parts washer is a term which is normally applied to aqueous cleaning equipment which uses brush, spray or immersion cleaning (either individually or in combination).
Parts washers are usually categorised into three general types:
- Manual equipment which comprises a simple work station providing brush, spray and immersion cleaning. The cleaning result is generally achieved using a combination of the chemical action of the solution and mechanical action provided by the brush.
- Automated spray equipment. This is a cabinet with a lid which allow components to be placed onto a rotating work basket. The fluid is applied to the items via spray bars above and below the work basket and cleaning is achieved using a combination of the chemical action of the solution and mechanical action provided by the sprays. The fluid can be heated to assist with cleaning.
- Automated immersion equipment. This equipment comprises an open tank with lift-up lid allowing the work to be introduced. The Wash solution is contained within the main tank and workloads are introduced onto a platform which is pneumatically operated located above the solution. When the process is stated, the workload lowers into the solution and then agitated up and down which provide mechanical assistance (dunking) to the chemical action of the solution. The fluid can be heated to assist with cleaning.
